Online fundraisers can be the joy on many non-profits today. In fact, it’s expected by many state attorney generals due to the laws regarding solicitation, trespassing, and non-profits. First, online fundraisers come in many shapes, sizes, attitudes, and colors. It should be noted that not all online fundraisers are “scams.”
“Scams” that exist today are only “scams” because the press media suggest labeling these operations as “scams.” In comparison to the number of businesses that are online actively using the internet for e-commerce, trump the numbers by far of those operations that can be labeled as “scams”. Audits can pose a serious risk to the credibility of businesses that participate in online fundraisers, and have forgotten to pay attention when it comes time to pay taxes. Beyond tax preparedness, the enjoyment not only comes from the participation, but also meeting new people through networking. The participation increases the social awareness of a career-minded individual.
