I used this book, 8th edition, for my Principles of Accounting I & II. It is clearly-written and well-explained the topic matter. Just read the textbook and do several problems, you will certainly pass any tests with an A.

There are several errors in this edition as well, mainly in the example illustrations. However, it does not bother you much as long as you understand the main concept.

This book has pretty clear step by step instructions and easy to find and follow examples. It is very useful when trying to do the problems in the book. The big downside is that this book is full of typos, missing information, and incorrect math. Each week my class finds something else that the book has messed up on. If you are a teacher looking to possibly use this book, I wouldn't, at least for this edition.

I was worried that the book would come late, but it came right on time!!! I loved the tracking on Amazon because it helped me feel at ease that the package was on transit and not just in some post office.

I was trying to take an accounting class using an online digital version of this textbook. I'll never do that again! There's no comparing a digital book to the ease of having a physical book right in your hands. I love my book.

I was disappointed in how the book was package in the delivery because the front cover of the book was damage and the book was ship with plain sheet of paper cover! I wish I could have paid a little more so that the book didnt get damage.

As best as I can tell, identical to the Nutshell, but $10 more. Same font, layout, and content. A little disappointed, though the nutshells are not bad - but may as well save $10 when you can.

What exactly is a concise hornbook? For an easy to follow introduction to Chapter 11 reorganizations, I really like Attorney Alderman's book: Chapter 11 Business Reorganizations: For Business Leaders, Accountants And Lawyers. A book that I think come closer to the depth of a hornbook, I recommend Professor Martin's BookThe Glannon Guide to Bankruptcy: Guide to Bankruptcy (Glannon Guides) or Professor Blum's Bankruptcy and Debtor/Creditor: Examples and Explanations (Examples & Explanations).

The testimonial made my decision to buy this book easy. I wanted an accounting "reference book". And this is it! It's an easy read (helpful to know some accounting). It solidified what I already knew. It answered the nagging questions with how and why certain accounts existed and there exact purposes. It also will help me with setting up our business and finish the business plan - specifically cash flow statements - understanding retained earning - to pick corporation or partnership and ratios (forgotten from college!) I would recommend this to any business owner.

I read some of the reviews where some feel this is not a book for beginners and I agree. I received exposure to the 4 main financial statements while studying for a BCom degree.
I used this book as a refresher course as I don't use accounting on a day-to-day basis.
Therefore, I rate this book 4 of 5 stars *if* it's used as a refresher course in accting. For the basics of accounting, look elsewhere.

This book is utterly useless. I wouldnt recommend it.The table of contents seems interesting but it lacks clear depth. I would recommend Financial statements by Thomas Ittelson. Its quite a fulfilling book and covers the contents of this book.
