A management degree gives an edge in career growth and help move up the management ladder in the organization. Management experts with MBA will get better options with in the country and abroad. Students while joining MBA program in selected business schools try to identify some of the emerging sectors like retail management, insurance, telecom, IT, Agri-business and supply chain management. More professional are intended to take MBA from abroad. Recent finding reveal that 69% of the candidate are interested to take MBA to improve their career aspects. 54% wants to learn new skills and 40 % want to study to build professional network. 35% as to get better salary after completing MBA. 22% candidate’s aims to get MBA as a part of their education and 30 % want to start their own business.
As a result of booming interest in MBAs among non- business people. After completing MBA program from abroad, they tend to diverge their activities to business related areas. Globally information technology, engineering, consultancy, financial services, banking, industry, consumer products, telecommunication, accounting and retail are the major employment sector for MBA respondents. Business schools from abroad offer specialized MBA programme for lawyers, engineers, doctors, etc, Moreover dual MBA are available in different discipline.
Eligibility for Management studies- Any graduate with a minimum of 50% marks is eligible to postgraduate management program. There is no age limit for joining the course. Generally admission are through entrance exam conducted by group discussion and interview. MBA admission test is a secretary test which evaluates the ability of the candidate to conceptualize, infer, assume think fast and take quick decision with team building and decision making.
Group discussion and personal interview- Students qualifying in entrance test are invited for group discussion. This is further followed by personal interview. The group discussions are the first occasion in which candidate met and interact with faculty members. On an average 6-10 candidates are invited for this phase of the selection process for every seat offered in a group discussion the candidate discuss the topic given to them with the faulty for the duration of half an hour. On the basis of group discussion the candidate ability is judged in terms of behaviour, communication skills, and contribution of ideas facilitating a discussion, the range and depth of your knowledge on topics of general interest and initiative and leadership qualities. The personal interview process normally takes place after the group discussion. In this interview , besides the validation of the information you have provided in the application form, your suitability for the management program will be assessed on the basis of various personal attributes.
MBA – the three letter qualification has become almost mandatory for entry into a wide range of industries and top companies. Multinational, foreign banks, foreign financial institutions, public sector undertaking, apex financial institutions and so on. Increasing business activity and the predominant shortage of well trained managers for industry make the MBA tag a prestigious and a well paying one. The race for the best and the most remunerative jobs today is undoubtly won by management graduates.
